WIDE FIT: THE SHAPE OF THINGS TO COME

Written By santeandwade Admin 26 Feb 2019

Sante + Wade loafers come in standard and wide fit

It’s amazing how much pain you’re willing to bear in the name of fashion.

You convince yourself that shoes need to be “broken in” if they are uncomfortable.

You accept blisters and squashed up toes.

You repeatedly buy shoes in the same size as you wore when you were a teenager, and don’t think about why you cannot wait to take them off at the end of the day.

It’s time to face foot facts and banish the myths

The fact is that your foot physiology does change over the years even if the length of your foot doesn’t.

So, if your shoes don’t fit, you’re not alone. In fact, about 70 percent of the population wear ill-fitting shoes according to research from the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research.

And do you know how you could quickly and easily solve your foot problems?  Wear a wider fit.

Wide fitting shoes will make your feet look bigger

Wrong. Wide width shoes are less than a quarter of an inch wider than a narrow one.

This means that 99% of people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference with the naked eye. The difference in appearance is so small while it makes a world of difference for your comfort.

You want space for your toes (including a bit between the top of your big toe and where the shoe begins) but not so much space that the shoe is falling off.

If anything bothers you when you’re trying the shoe on, move on: It’s not going to get better as you continue to wear the shoe.

You’re not supposed to ‘break in’ shoes. Either they fit and are comfortable or they’re not.

Wide fitting shoes aren’t attractive

Historically wide fitting shoes may not been as attractive as their mainstream counterparts.  But that was then, and this is now.

At Sante + Wade our mission is to offer the same breadth of choice to women with larger sizes and a wider fit.

All our shoes come in both a standard and wide fit. Our standard fit is a comfort fit and our wide is spacious.

But more importantly, we haven’t sacrificed style.

Put your best food forward

  • Our Adanna summer sandal is wide in the forefoot area but also has adjustability to support you if you have a higher instep. Set on a comfortable flared block heel with wide double straps, you’ll get a secure fit and a stylish design
  • Our contemporary Mori pointed toe pump has additional room at the widest point of your foot so you can actually wear this style without crushing your toes. Crafted from premium leathers, this flattering wardrobe classic will take you from day to night looking fab and feeling comfortable.
  • If you’re looking for a classic smoking slipper with a feminine touch, our Nneka style is as timeless as it’s comfortable

It’s always worth trying a wider fit: your feet will thank you!
